John 15:12 The Law of Love This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
The way God loved us was unconditionally, freely and full of mercy. Regardless of our fallen flesh He loved us. Isn't that what is preached at the altar calls on Sundays? We hear the preachers say "Come to Jesus-He loves you-Come without one plea-Just as you are-He accepts you-He loves you etc. etc. etc."
Now before we continue let's look at two other scripture verses:
Ephesians 2:13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the Blood of Christ.
Ephesians 2:15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;
Now Jesus gave a commandment to love others as He has loved us. If we are honest we would have to admit it was unconditionally. He did not condemn us because of our fleshly failures whether they were intentional or just habitual. No He just loved us so extravangantly that His Love changed us down inside our hearts.
If we would admit the truth many of us having come to know Jesus as Saviour still had fleshly addictions and habits in our flesh. Some things just vanished instantly upon conversion but some things did not in our experience. Did He then condemn you? No He didn't and you loved Him and He continued to love you.
Why? Because He looks upon the heart of a man and not the individuals goofed up thinking in his head nor the fleshly failings that appear outwardly to others. He saw that taken care of at the Cross of Calvery.
Now the Law of Commandments is like a ruler in that it allows someone to measure sin. By the law we can judge the actions of another persons flesh but we cannot see that persons heart unless it is revealed to us by the Holy Spirit.
So unless we want to be lawyers like the Pharisee's of old, and measure ourselves and others by the law of commandments, so we can be more righteous and holier than thou in our attitudes, we must look past the flesh. God hates the holier than thou attitude and considers it a stench in His nostrils. We have to look at others through His eyes considering what He has declared settled at the cross. We must see that individual as uncondemned, righteous and forgiven in Christ Jesus. God has said Jesus was the sacrifice for ALL and His Blood was the atonement for ALL,ONCE AND FOR ALL.
To condemn another person is in effect saying Jesus's sacrifice was less effective than Adam's sin. Romans 5:19 declares by the Disobedience of ONE (ADAM) many were MADE SINNERS--So by the Obedience of ONE (JESUS) shall many be MADE RIGHTEOUS. In Romans 5:18 is says "Therefore by the offense of one Judgement CAME UPON ALL MEN to Condemnation -- even so by the Righteousness of one the FREE GIFT -- CAME UPON ALL MEN unto Justification of Life.
The fact is in God's Eyes -- All are Forgiven -- He counts the Sacrifice and Obedience of Jesus to be the Full Price Paid for The Sins Of All Men. He has declared them Forgiven and Righteous. In the Book of Romans people are admonished to AWAKE TO RIGHTEOUSNESS and sin not. Why? Because they ARE ASLEEP -- IN THE DUST OF THE EARTH! Our job is not to condemn and kill people with the law for the law is the sting of death.
Our job is to AWAKE THEM out of their SLEEPY SPIRITUAL STATE -- so they may enjoy the benefits of the salvation already purchased for them. That they be partakers of all God's promises but especially the most important one that of actually fellowshipping with their Father God right here-right now and not have to wait until they Pass Away.
We who have been awakened are LIGHTS and we are to Shine Our Lights into the dark bedrooms of their minds and let the Light wake them up. We tell them they are already forgiven--loved--totally accepted by their Father God. Just like people in the natural some folks wake up slowly. Some can get grouchy being awakened but when they fully wake up they just do what comes naturally.
So it is spiritually! The more awake you are the more clearly you see. The more awake to who you are "In Christ" the more you act like Christ would act. You become more forgiving--more loving--more generous--more friendly--more merciful--more kind--more tolerant of others -- especially toward those that are not awake yet.
You might be no better in God's Eyes than the Sleeping Beauty that you are judging. Think about that for a moment then make a very wise decision to just LOVE ONE ANOTHER AS GOD HAS LOVED YOU and if there is any judging to do let Him do it.
